'Poundbreaker' Soros Says He's Lost Touch

LONDON (Reuters) - Billionaire financier George Soros, dubbed in 1992 ``the man who
broke the pound,'' said on Friday he had lost the magic touch that made him one of the
world's most successful investors.

``I think I lost my touch some time ago. I'm like an aging boxer that should not go into the
ring,'' Soros said in an interview with BBC television.

Soros, whose funds total some $11 billion, recently
overhauled his flagship Quantum Fund -- the world's largest
-- following heavy losses in the wake of a worldwide slump
in Internet and technology stocks.

Soros reportedly made $1 billion from a $10 million bet
against sterling in 1992 that helped force Britain's exit from the European exchange rate
mechanism.
