Yaacov,

1.It is my understanding that there is not one software solution that will take care of the Intel flaw but rather each manufacturer of software has to go through their own code to see if their product will trigger the flaw. If it does then that software company will write a "patch" specifically for it's own program.

2.Dell may not be a big name in Europe now but give it time. There is very little need for someone who is buying their second or third replacment computer to go down to the local computer store and pay the middleman a fee for stocking and demonstrating a computer if that person is computer knowledgable and knows what they want. The local store is good for the first timers who don't know what they want or need. Compaq understands this and that is why it is starting a direct mail division to compete directly with Dell. In ten years almost no one will be buying a computer from a local store because hopefully everyone will have bought at least their first computer by then.

3.I lived in Japan for two years and have done a tremendous amount of business with them when I still owned my companies. Your are correct Yaacov, it is almost impossible to strike a deal with them because of the way they do business. I learned to always add 50% more to my initial prices because it is a custom to haggle and businessmen there always expect you to shave your prices substantially. However , once a deal was struck it was like printing money. The orders rolled in like clockwork and the payments even faster.

Yaacov, I am going out for a night on the town to try and get cheered up. After a day like today of missed opportunity I need a distraction.
When I get back if I can still see straight I will send you my questions regarding writing covered calls.

cheers,

Kevin
