Support for the death penalty isn't a conservative position, and opposition isn't a liberal position. I am Roman Catholic, my religion is opposed to the death penalty on moral grounds. The Catholic church is quite conservative. All life is sacred, even the lives of murderers. God forgives those who repent and ask for forgiveness. If a murderer is executed before he repents, he will go to hell. I don't believe that is God's will.
