Earlie, my post yesterday must have been written by "The Prophet", today we find out that Toshiba has signed a licensing agreement covering SDRAM and DDR, as far as RMBS is concerned it does not matter whether DRDRAM or DDR Dram win, they get paid, and their royalties rate is higher. In essence, Toshiba killed any effort Hitachi had in place to get the rest of the Dramurai to the rescue. Toshiba in essence admitted that the suite of patents cover any DRAM technology that uses both side of the clock pulses. It seems once more that the TA forecasted well the FA. Some people always know better than we do. Right now it seems that eventually RMBS is going to get Royalties on at least $30 B of products (and I think this is conservative if you add controllers and other associated devices like RIMM and possibly some DIMM), that is about $6/share pretax, maybe as much as $10 after taxes depending on how deep the falling in line will be. Hitachi will have to fold, IMTO.
