Here's an example of why we need more bandwidth --- and why this isn't likely to ebb for years. Can you imagine what will happen when everyone realizes they can monitor the construction of their second home? Or check on weather visually, not just in text? Or follow their pre-schooler in his/her classroom minute-by-minute? The possibilities are endless.
