Your argument sounds plausible to me. Outside of some short covering, there really has not been much new buying in most gold stocks.

Maybe we wait till we get some kind of answer to the question of the type of landing that is in store for the US economy. What amazes me is that most "new era" investors don't realize that 1994 was a very rare event.
