E: You perplex me somewhat. The description you carved of Edwarda was most complimentary and blushing with life. It is hard for me to see why you will not reproduce it.
My single meeting with Edwarda was delightful. She is a remarkably attractive Lauren Bacall lady - who has avoided the ravages of aging. She laughs lovingly often.
At this meeting, she took the tab for the drinks and dips. This is because I am close to being a pauper and cannot contribute to the travel fund you have just initiated.
However, and this is one of the reasons I feel so alien to the SI threads, there are a lot of yachts, or boats, or ships, and horses, and international travel, and luaus of many sorts, and private schools, and multiple cars, and fetes in and out of home that give me the impression that a lot of discretionary dollars are bopping around. I feel that many of the thread members could pop off a check to take care of any expenses that were called for.
However, there supposedly are cousins and an aunt and such that reside locally. I do not understand this offshoot from Edwarda's hospitalization.
I spoke with an IC nurse several moments ago and the most I could get out of her was that Edwarda was still alive. She asked for my number so a family member could call. I gave it to her - and, if I get a call, I will report immediately.
All of this is horrid.
And I find myself dumbfounded at your not wanting to post the intimate description you have created of her; and at the contention that seems to be rising whether or not nieces should travel.
In my first post on this thread I said that Edwarda was benevolent. And I said that is not a commonly shared condition. Do we all sprout hackles?
I think of this lovely, lively lady lying unconscious, in a condition termed Critical, and my eyes sweat tears. Can we avoid turning the event into a telethon? Many of you people are very very well off.
Lather has the spirit. That is what we need, spirit. Not details and logistics. A concentration of our energies will do it.
Won't it?
