James, Out of curiosity, do they work for Toshiba's competition? Yes they do. Sony seems to think highly enough of Toshiba to have them as chief supplier, but what the heck do they know? Toshiba also builds the processor used in PS2. f you do get back to your Japanese friends, could you ask them whether they think the "tsusansho" (or MITI, the powerful Ministry of International Trade and Industry) could get involved with this matter? OK. I don't expect the other Japanese manufacturers will give in as easily as Toshiba did. Scumbria
