For all the reasons we've been over time and time again - the name of the game is to find it and produce it as cheaply as possible - and, lest you forget, the hedging affects the time when it hits the market - but that's old hat now - i.e. it's been in place for years - so the timing of supply from gold that is hedged is influenced by who is coming off it, and who is coming on. But it's all part of the industry - and if you want to be discerning you should pick the company that suits your own book - to hold, to trade, or to short. What could be simpler than that - unless you too (and I do believe you do) think that some producers want the price to fall? Even if you believe that fiction you can factor that into your equation.
