Global Crossing CEO Becomes Strategic Advisor to Nation's Leading Free Calling Service on the Internet

SANTA CLARA and SUNNYVALE, CA - June 16, 2000 - Leo J Hindery, Jr., chairman and CEO of GlobalCenter and CEO of Global Crossing Ltd., (Nasdaq: GBLX), has taken a seat on the board of directors of Dialpad.com, Inc., the leading provider of free local and long distance phone services on the Web.

Leo J. Hindery, Jr., 52, brings more than 13 years in the telecommunications and cable industries as well as an aggregated 30 years of business expertise to his new role as board member and strategic advisor to Dialpad. As Chief Executive Officer of Global Crossing and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GlobalCenter Inc., the Internet services subsidiary of Global Crossing, Mr. Hindery will contribute cross-industry perspective, deep domain resources and proven entrepreneurial vision to Dialpad's Board.

Dialpad provides registered users with free local and long-distance phone calls to any U.S. phone number, including residential, business and cell phones. The company has registered more than seven and one half million users in its first seven and one half months of operation.

Before joining Global Crossing in November 1999, Mr. Hindery was President and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T Broadband & Internet Services, which was formed out of the March 1999 merger of Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI) into AT&T. AT&T Broadband & Internet Services encompasses all of AT&T's domestic local telephony, video and data services operations. Mr. Hindery was elected President of TCI and its affiliated companies, the world's largest cable television distribution and programming entity, in March 1997.

Prior to his work with TCI, Mr. Hindery was Managing General Partner of InterMedia Partners, the nation's ninth largest multiple cable system operator (MSO), which he founded in 1988. Before launching InterMedia, Mr. Hindery was Chief Officer for Planning and Finance of The Chronicle Publishing Company of San Francisco, a major newspaper and television broadcast company and, at the time, a significant MSO. Prior to joining the Chronicle, Mr. Hindery was Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of Becker Paribas, Inc., a New York-based investment banking firm. His career began with Utah International Inc. in 1971, where he became the company's senior financial officer with responsibility for financings, acquisitions and development.

Mr. Hindery graduated with honors from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business in 1971, where he earned a master of business administration degree. He is a graduate with honors of Seattle University.

Mr. Hindery is Chairman of OneMediaPlace, Inc. (formerly Adauction.com, Inc.) and a Director of GT Group Telecom, Tanning Technology Corp., TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. VerticalNet, and zUniversity.com, Inc. He is also Vice Chairman of the Museum of Radio and Television and a Director of C-SPAN. Mr. Hindery is a member of the Stanford Business School Advisory Council and of the Board of Trustees of Hampton University, and a Director of the Daniels Fund.
