submarine optic business is booming, specially in Asia and ALA owns 40% global market shares.
New 40 gig system in trials in customers, including US and is doing well.
Broadband access business (xDSL and LMDS) is growing very fast and ALA/NN owns 50% global shares.
New 50 gig is ramping .....
and NN kicked out LU from major carrier.
With 35% revenue growth and higher eps growth, I see no
reason why ALA should trades at 100% discount to NT.
I am not going to debate what is an appropriate premium for
NT, but 100% discount is way to low.
NT leads optics , where ALA leads broadband access ( huge market) and soon will IP/ATM switch-router market for large service provider.

As for action, may be ALA will decide to make early positive
preannouncement.
But this of course is pure speculation.
