Nothing like extortion to make for good customer relations. Certain families in Chicago and New York have been using this principle quite effectively, for generations.

Using emotionally charged terms like extortion to describe the lawful process of demanding a royalty for using ones patented intellectual property exposes your bias. Do all other firms who demand such royalty payments deserve the same moniker? If you think they do, you are living in the wrong economic world. Do you expect individuals and firms invest their time, money and energy developing patentable technology without the ability to demand royalties?

Perhaps you better rethink what you just said.
