Medical Industries of America welcomes Dr. A. Razzak Tai to its board of
directors

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.--(BW HealthWire)--May 12, 1997--Medical Industries of America Inc. (NASDAQ:MIOA)
announced Monday that Dr. A. Razzak Tai, MD, FACCP, ACCP, MRCP has been elected and has further agreed
to join the company's board of directors.

Since Medical Industries' acquisition of Florida Physicians Internet Inc. (FPII), a large multi-group medical
practice formerly owned and operated by Tai, he has served as Medical Director to the company. Further,
thanks largely in part to Tai's influence and reputation, seven additional doctors from a wide range of medical
disciplines have recently joined the medical staff of FPII. Collectively, revenues from the practice, coupled with
revenue anticipated from the cath lab scheduled to be delivered to FPII later this month, is expected to exceed
$7 million in 1997.

Dr. Tai is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases in England and the United States.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a
Fellow of the American College of Angiology and a Fellow of the Clinical Council of Cardiology of the American
Heart Association. Dr. Tai has served on the committee for the American College of Chest Physicians and is a
past president of the American Heart Association.

After graduating from medical school with distinctions in Internal Medicine and Forensic Medicine, Dr. Tai
undertook extensive post graduate training in Tropical Medicine, Internal Medicine and Cardiology in England,
Canada and the United States. He continued his training through Residencies and Internships at Montefiore
Hospital and Medical Center in New York. Dr. Tai subsequently established a private practice in Cardiovascular
Diseases in Connecticut where he also accepted faculty appointments at Albert Einstein Medical School, Yale
Medical Schools and Long Island University. Dr. Tai relocated his practice to Central Florida in 1977. He
continued his medical teaching at Orlando Regional Medical Center while establishing Florida Physicians
Internet Inc., a large multi-specialty group practice serving four counties in the Central Florida region. Dr. Tai's
research papers have been extensively published in medical journals. He has also authored and published
``The Heart Doctor's Heart Book'' and ``Rapid Interpretation of Electrocardiogram.''

Medical Industries of America Inc. provides diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services to the surgical and
medical community. The company supplies mobile cardiac catheterization services to hospitals, primarily in
the state of Florida. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Florida Physicians Internet Inc., the company
operates a multi-specialty medical group practice.
