CB, in a fairly direct fashion, I have been seen as an interloper in this scenario. Yet, I will now make the caustic comment that all of this Claudia stuff strikes me as a diversion. Dear, loving and lovable Edwarda languishes in lonely loveliness in a hospital room in Brooklyn, NY. Rather than natter off with the logistics of a trip from a distant sister, can't we fill these pages with love and whimsey that will buoy Edwarda's spirits when she comes to consciousness?
Like, I have sweet recollections at her reaction to my telling her I was going to the Netherlands for three weeks with the sole purpose of getting off my ass. She encouraged. She said she wanted to come too. She brightened the whole event.
I feel she has done the same for many of us. She is benevolent. Wouldn't it be dandy for our personal recollections to flitter by her - when she is lying in the recovery room?
Do I write too much, and not attend the serious things like phonecalls and financial arrangements? Do we lose our focus? Do we direct it, our focus, away from center stage? Where, center stage, Edwarda is lying - surviving on life support mechanisms.
I believe, penni, that the purpose of this thread is to give Edwarda a boost when she needs it. Not to find bargain air fares.
I am sorry for those offended by the above. And I deeply love those who understand what I am fumblingly trying to say.
