Note that this is not a problem in Draw, but PhotoPaint, PrintHouse, PrintOffice, etc...

Weren't those products acquired from another company?

I think those 3 points are well made and should be persued. Earlier this spring we saw 50,000 seat licenses sold to DOJ, so there is proof that the legal community still uses WP.

And I agree that they need new management and a new structure aimed at retaining mid-level programmers with some continuity. This is a problem that MSFT faces right now since many of there employee options are under water, and the new ones aren't yet lucrative enough to exercise. That means they will be shopping around for new work and new opportunities.

But my major point is that Corel has an office suite package that can be offered to the linux market. Maybe the hardcore purists won't want it, but the rest of us who would like to wean ourselves away from MSFT (certainly to get away from having to reboot the entire system when an app crashes), or merely to get in "vogue" with the future which I believe IS Linux.

So WP may not be perfect, but since MSFT isn't supporting Linux, I don't see why Corel can't make some measure of impact on that market.

I personally would love to see EVERYONE using Linux. At least it is an open system with improvements being shared by the whole open source community. It doesn't matter what application folks put on the OS, just so long as they use it.

Again, thanks for your comments.

Regards,

Ron
