Changes at Activision
Activision's making some changes as its stock price continues to sag. The publisher/developer today announced it has reorganized itself into a holding company and will change its name. That bit's a little tricky. A new parent company, Activision Holdings, Inc., now owns 100 percent of what was Activision, Inc. As part of the reorganization, the former Activision, Inc. has changed its name to Activision Publishing, Inc. and Activision Holdings, Inc. changed its name to Activision, Inc. (We pause momentarily for you to read that again, then grab a beverage of your choosing to help you comprehend it. We sure needed one.)
The good news in all of this is that no games will be affected and no jobs will be lost. Business operations are expected to continue as normal. The bad news is (and has been) Activision's stock. Shares of the company have fallen roughly 67 percent sionce last October, with most of the decline coming in the past two-and-a-half months.
