CC,
Old Hickory was alright but, Kentucky is not really a state of the "deep" south. For that matter, neither is Texas. Texas has more of a Southwestern state of mind, than the confederate style South. The western two thirds of Texas couldn't have cared less about the Civil War.

Remember though, Andy Jackson was a reprobate but, I liked him for it. His buddies trashed the White House when he was elected but, I like a good party as much as the next guy. Also, he did steal Texas from Mexico with the help of Sam Houston, who he personally sent down here to take it. Those 2,000 federal troops on the East side of the Sabine River didn't hurt either.

I'm not a yankee lover but, neither is Bush. You just can't find anything of substance against him so, you grasp at straws. Not unusual for a liberal democrat. ~H~
