I always wait for release 2 at least.

I remember waiting for months with DOS 6 before compressing the drive. I kept me ear open to listen for screams from other more adventuresome folks ..

Didn't hear of one single problem .. then the day that I broke down and compressed, I heard three folks talking about nightmares .. I got back home went to load a new video driver and blammo ..

Called MSFT tech and asked them for header info so I could rebuild the drive. They told me that a: nonpublic info .. b: if I could do it on my own I should be working for them.

I fixed it without their help and then spent the next two years telling everybody to sell their MSFT.

Still running 95 (OSR2 of course).

Wish I was in your neck of the woods. I'd have been over a long time ago to fix that for you.

Do you still have your old machine intact? It's possible that you could diskcopy the hard drive then just load the drivers for the new machine.

Sad about Edwarda. Hope they get her up and around soon.
