Neo, As a younger man I used to say; "Save your Confederate money, boys, the South will rise again!", but with age, and quite a bit of study, I have seen the absolute folly, and terrible tragedy, of that war. I have also thought about what this country would have been like had the South won. Actually, they could have won it in one battle. If they had gone ahead and pounced on Washington after the first battle of Bull Run, instead of having a "victory" ball, they would have been in charge, but where would we be today. Would there still be slavery? Would we be a, primarily, agricultural nation as the South was? Could the Industrial Revolution have been as effective under plantation owner control? Could we have manufactured the weapons to defend such a young country from all those that coveted it? As much as it used to stick in my craw, it seems obvious that the war had to turn out as it did. The only other thing I have to say about it is:
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
