Thank you for starting the medical info thread. I have nothing to contribute, since I haven't PM'd to her in some time, but others do. May I suggest that jlallen, if he is still acting legally on her behalf, be asked to carry this information in person to the doctors? Sometimes they listen to lawyers when there is an issue of whether considering additional information or consulting additional resources is medically prudent or appropriate.
I am distressed by the tone of much of what I read this evening. Reading it all in one fell swoop after an exhausting day battling ferries, etc. added depression to my grief over Edwarda.
I echo SIBob's plea that we focus on Edwarda's needs, not ours.
I can do nothing medically, but there are forces beyond the medical profession. I suggest two things.
First, I believe Edwarda attended parochial schools. If one of the cousins knows where, can they let the sisters at the school know of Edwarda's condition so they can pray for her?
Second, I would ask all who are so minded to join in common prayer or holding in thought for Edwarda tomorrow morning. I suggest that at 9:00 Pacific, 10:00 Mountain, 11:00 Central, and 12:00 Eastern, those who are so minded join in prayer for Edwarda, and those who are otherwise minded join in a community of holding Edwarda in our mental or spiritual care. While I personally believe in the power of prayer to a Christian God, as I believe Edwarda does, I also believe in the power of positive holding in thought based on other or no religious belief. I hope that if as many of us as possible hold Edwarda in our thoughts at the same time, there may be a community of power which reaches her in some way which is no less real simply because none of us can understand it.
Please if you are so minded, for whatever reason or from whatever spiritual basis, let us join together tomorrow morning to hold Edwarda in our communal care. |
