The photo from the story at insanehardware.com
that was shown to validate the authenticity of the post, shows a chip/socket in which the chip covers up much more of the socket.

If this is supposed to be a socket 423 board, then either it's a fraud, or the the insanehardware photo is a fraud.

If it's socket 479, then both could be real, as long as the 479 pin socket is much smaller than the 423 pin socket (which is certainly possible, if counterintuitive).

But given that the 423 pin product is just now sampling, and the 479 pin product is scheduled for later next year, I think it's unlikely that 479 pin boards are being scattered around at this point.

So that Willamette 1.4/1.8 story looks suspicious (to me, at least).
