Re: Facts about Edwarda which may be helpful in treating her present condition

FACTS WHICH MAY BE SIGNIFICANT

1. Edwarda has experienced illness off and on since at least December, 1999. We have written records of her mentioning having symptoms which she attributed as possibly being caused by flu on December 26, 1999, on March 24, 2000, and commencing in early June. On June 7, 2000, she stated that she had been sick since Sunday, June 3, 2000, with something she had thought was flu but later thought was food poisoning and a sinus infection. She mentioned abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and a sinus headache she was treating with Percodan.

People who were in regular contact with Edwarda state that she seemed chronically ill over the past few months. She would get over one illness, and then get another shortly afterwards.

2. During the most recent illness, early June, 2000, Edwarda complained about weakness, exhaustion, headache, nausea, dehydration due to inability to keep water down, that she would vomit three or four hours after eating, diarrhea, and that she was unable to sleep at night because the birds were keeping her awake. She stated that she had body aches and sinus aches so bad that Percodan was not effective. She complained about the sinus headache as far back as May 19, 2000.

3. Edwarda liked to take herbal remedies. She stated in December, 1999 and in March, 2000, that she was taking an herbal remedy called Thera-Flu for her symptoms. She also stated that she was taking an herbal remedy called Xenadrine to try to lose weight for the Memorial Day weekend.

One "serving" (two capsules) of Xanadrine contains the following:
Acetyl L-Carnitine 100 m.g
Citrus Aurantium (standardized for 4% synephrine) 125 mg
Ginger root 50 mg
Guarana extract (standardized for 22% caffeine) 910 mg
L-Tyrosine 80 mg
Ma Huang (standardized for 6% ephedrine) 335 mg
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) 40 mg
White Willow Bark (standardized for 15% salicin) 105 mg

Thera-Flu is a powder which is dissolved in hot water and drunk as a tea. Active Ingredients: per packet: Acetaminophen (650 mg), Pseudoephedrine HCl (60 mg), Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (20 mg), Chlorpheniramine Maleate (4 mg), Citric Acid Inactive Ingredients: Ascorbic Acid, Natural Lemon Flavors, Pregalatinized Starch, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Citrate, Sucrose, Titanium Dioxide, Tribasic Calcium Phosphate, D&C Yellow #10

4. Edwarda's apartment had a bad problem with the plumbing. The apartment upstairs leaked into her closet, and she had a hard time getting the landlord to fix it. This was a problem over several months.

5. Edwarda is sexually active, although not promiscuous. Her primary partner also complained of nausea and illness. We have not located him yet to inquire about his present condition.

6. Edwarda does drink alcoholic beverages, although whether to excess or not is not known.

7. Edwarda has a cat, which was always indoors.
