UPDATE ON MONICA'S CONDITION
I just got off the phone with Claudia, Monica's sister.
She was heading to the hospital to meet with the cousins.
She was at the hospital til late last night. There seems to be no change in Monica's condition. When they tried to do the Femur Line (please don't anybody spell check this!!) for dialysis yesterday, because of the no clotting factor, they had to remove it. They will not be able to try to put the line in again until Monday. They need time for the plateletts she got to do their job. She did say that Monica is not producing urine due to the kidney failure.
She told me that she is very comfortable with the doctors. She said the doctor she talked to last night is one of the best she has come across in a long time. She said, "that she was very comfortable with that doctor, and that the "head honcho" was there now.
I ask about the herbs that Monica had been taking. She said all that stuff has been given to the hospital. She said that the doctors are at a loss. They feel they have tested for everything they can think of. She specifically said they have tested for bacteria, virus, metals, yeasts, she said they have checked for rare virus's and infections.
The doctors do not know if what they are now dealing with maybe be the after effects of what caused her illness, being that they cannot find the cause. The are hoping that her body pulls through, and starts to fight this off on it's own. She told me that Monica is recieving several IV combinations, including antibiotics.
Claudia was very friendly, and helpful. Her stress over Monica's condition was very evident. I wished I could have given her a hug to comfort her. I felt at one point she was near tears, as she talked about her children and the talents that they have that are more like Monica than herself. I expressed my intrigue at the vast array of knowledge Monica has, she agreed.
I am very glad that Claudia is in New York. I gave her my home phone number.....
She is going to speak to the doctors about the information that has been gathered on SI about her recent aliments. I told her the CBB would fax her that information if they felt at all it would be helpful |
