The whole problem is that if you are going to be running on web pads anyways, then the OS is secondary.

In that case, why not use a StrongARM SA1110 processor, which at the highest speed consumes only 400mW. Thereby making the low end Transmeta chips redundant.

If you need more power then the newly announced Intel chips should eliminate any perceived Transmeta advantage from the higher range as well.
