Though not really good news, Optimal Robotics got mentioned in the June 26th edition of BusinessWeek magazine (print version).

Steve Worthington, a former venture capitalist who runs Barbary Coast Capital Management (and whom threadfollowers here might recognize as the actual name of SI post alias "Auric Goldfinger" - see post 210 of this thread) named Optimal Robotics as one of his top short picks. His reasoning from the article (after conceeding that the idea is great, investors love it, and that it has deals with Wal-Mart and Kroger) is "This ain't gonna happen." The article goes on to mention that Worthington is "underwhelmed by the company's [OPMR] marketing of its products." [BTW- June 6th is the day the company released the news that its expending into the UK market!]

Good analysis Steve! You sure convinced me with your reasonable argument. <heavy sarcasm>

Isn't it comforting to know that his opinions are worth publishing? Oh, and by the way, the article was written no later than three days after Steve's/Auric's first post here on June 6 so it is quite likely that he had already done (or atleast set up) the interview with Gary Weiss (the author of the story).

Let's see - the stock was up at around $40 on June 9 and has fallen to $35 by Friday - appears to be quite fortuous pick for Mr. Worthington - assuming he didn't trade OPMR during the period.

Maybe I should get in touch with Mr. Weiss and set up another interview? What do ya think?

PS - It might be interesting to see if Steve also posted just recently on the CDWC, DRTN, ELON, KSS, POSO, RMBS, SCII and YUM threads.
