Coming from a software background I've learned to ignore patents - I've reengineered around a few of them myself. I believe this is Scumbria's argument.

I don't think there is a way to engineer around this patent. My questions are the value of the patent as a percentage of the total IP in the design, and the obviousness of the patent claim. 1% seems way out of line for what seems to me a rather trivial piece of fairly obvious IP.
