(NewsTraders.com)-- Goldman Sachs has suspended coverage of the personal computer hardware and peripherals industries in the wake of analyst Rick Schutte's resignation, according to a market source.
Schutte, who is said to have quit to pursue a "buy-side career," was a well-respected and top-ranked analyst on Wall Street.
Goldman, in suspending coverage, removed the following five names from its "recommended list" category: Apple Computer (AAPL), Dell Computer (DELL), Gateway (GTW), American Power Conversion (APCC), and Lexmark International (LXK).
The investment house also suspended coverage of Compaq Computer (CPQ), Quantum's DLT & Storage Group (DSS), Quantum Corp. (HDD), Hutchinson Technology (HTCH), Komag (KMAG), Micron Electronics (MUEI), Palm (PALM), Read-Rite (RDRT), Seagate Technology (SEG), and Western Digital (WDC).
