Leading Systems Integrator Selects General DataComm''s ATM Switches; Globe Group Uses GDC APEX Products for Total Solutions Package
MIDDLEBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000--General DataComm Industries, Inc. (NYSE:GDC) announced today that its award-winning GDC APEX(R) broadband products have been chosen by Call Out Services (COS), the support and systems integration arm of Globe Group Holdings Ltd.

According to the agreement between General DataComm Limited (U.K.) and Globe Group Holdings Ltd., COS will incorporate GDC's voice and data ATM technology into COS' total solutions package for their blue chip customer base throughout the United Kingdom.

COS is one of the leading support and systems integrators in the U.K. and supplier to key accounts including a major telecommunications company and an international bank.

The United Kingdom, which comprises the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, has over 30 million telephone lines in service used by more than 58 million people.

The GDC APEX product family offers Quality of Service (QoS) assurance with highly efficient bandwidth management. The result is reduced network complexity and higher reliability for customers.
