J.D. Edwards and DataProfit Help Vantage Fulfill Their E-business Vision

HOLYOKE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000--

Vantage Purchases in Hardware, Software and Implementation Services from DataProfit in Multi-Million Dollar Deal

DataProfit, a leading provider of technology solutions for business, announced today that Vantage selected them to provide hardware, software, and implementation services for J.D. Edwards OneWorld(R) enterprise software, in a multi-million dollar deal. Vantage chose the J.D. Edwards/DataProfit solution to enable the company to implement a tailored business-to-business solution and to help them achieve their overall e-business vision.

DataProfit is currently implementing the financial, distribution, customer service and manu-facturing management modules of J.D. Edwards' OneWorld enterprise software solution. Be- cause Vantage is in the apparel business, providing custom-embroidered or branded clothing such as shirts, jackets, sweaters and fleece, the company also chose DataProfit to implement custom- ized functionality that will allow them to track inventory and place orders based on merchandise style, color, and size. Once implemented, Vantage will have one software system for both external use over the Internet and internal use, allowing them to maintain one set of data such as pricing information.

Faced with a changing business climate and the desire to fulfill their vision to incorporate the Internet into their supply chain, Vantage needed better access to information and better control of processes. Vantage chose the J.D. Edwards/DataProfit solution over other enterprise or apparel industry software because of J.D. Edwards' open, collaborative solutions that allow customers to change their technology over time to meet changing business requirements.

"We're looking for J.D. Edwards and DataProfit to enable us to act as an integrated organization with full visibility of information at all levels," said Ira Neaman, president for Vantage. "The customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain capabilities of J.D. Edwards will enable us to go from an isolated island to a virtual enterprise, integrating our supply side with our customers."

"We have always been a superior performer in our industry," added Neaman. "With the impact of the Internet, our competitors are no longer just local apparel specialty companies, but worldwide service organizations as well. We believe that deploying J.D. Edwards' software will help us to compete at this new standard of performance." In 1999, Vantage ranked No. 7 in sales volume in the $13 billion promotional products industry, according to The Counselor magazine.
