It's popular in some circles. Population control zealots, for example.

I brought Darwin Among the Machines with me on a recent trip. I've only read the first 3 chapters because I stumbled across a great used bookstore outside of Ithaca, NY and loaded up on a bunch of stuff. Now I'm back to having 4-5 books underway. Nothing like a focused attention span.

I was interested in what the author said about Samuel Butler and Erasmus Darwin and a couple of other people and how their contributions predate Charles Darwin, who essentially cribbed from them.

This is one of those books that you need to constantly refer to the endnotes as you read. (At least I do) I look forward to getting back to it in a few days.
