DSL incompetence -

I signed up in April, and got an order number from SBC. They were supposed to contact me within a few weeks. I hadn't heard anything, so I called today.

First called SBC. Waited 20 minutes on hold. They said "let me check." Before I know it, I'm transferred to Concentric. On hold another 20 minutes. As soon as I say the word "Etrade", they transfer me to a recording to call Etrade, with a phone number. This phone number gets me to the regular Power Etrade menu. I get a service rep, who tells me to call Bell Atlantic, because they're my phone company. Naturally, Bell Atlantic has no record of any DSL on my line.

And now I'm doing the whole thing again. I started over with SBC. SBC says I'm still at the "qualification" stage. "Let me call the department that has that information" - bam - right over to Concentric again. I've been on hold for 40 minutes waiting to get into Concentric. I give up for today.

I would rather that they not give us these "free" services, than give them to us but not have them supported correctly.
