Scumbria, I don't think there is a way to engineer around this patent. ... 1% seems way out of line for what seems to me a rather trivial piece of fairly obvious IP. You don't see the conflict in your statements? If it can't be engineered around, I'd think it could hardly be called trivial. It would seem to me to be a tremendous breakthrough on Rambus's part if they were the first to come up with the only way that exists to solve this problem. OTOH, if it's a trivial problem to solve, then there are probably 50 or 100 other ways to solve it. Get cracking. I'll bet you could license it for .5% and the DRAM companies would come running!
