Note - no p/e because ONIS and NUFO don't have earnings - average price/sales of 300 - 400; EXFO at p/e of 143 and 19.85 p/s, DIGL at P/E of 238.94 and p/s of 41.27

DIGL - closest competitor I could find. Is tech comparable??

New Focus wants to take advantage of telecom providers' new focus on fiber-optic networks. The company makes fiber amplifiers, wavelength management equipment, and optoelectronics that boosts the capacity and speed of networks, plus laser modules and photonics tools used in the manufacture and testing of fiber-optic gear and networks. New Focus sells directly and through distributors to optical networking suppliers such as Agilent, Alcatel, Corning, JDS Uniphase, Nortel Networks, and Pirelli. Nearly three-quarters of its sales come from the US. New Focus is boosting manufacturing capacities in China. Co-founder and chairman Milton Chang 18% of the company.

For the three months ended 3/31/00, net revenues totaled $9.8 million, up from $4.7 million. Net loss totaled $12.5 million, up from $1.6 million. Results reflect increased sales of telecom products, offset by negative gross margins
