Some zealots can be charmingly eccentric, though irritating at times. I have a relative who is obsessed with the idea of global warming. He's always saying stuff like "this rock is burning up" and "we gotta blast offa this rock."

If you let him, he'll show you his drawings of how we can build a sun shield to orbit the earth or shoot a particle beam cannon at the moon to raise a protective shield of dust. Or we could terraform Mars. If these projects get expensive we can fund them by mining the asteroid belt. If setting up a mining operation on an asteroid proved to be cost prohibitive, we would simply attach a retro rocket to it and bring it down here into our orbit.

He is an educated guy. Thoroughly whacked, but great fun. Having people like this in my family makes me have a soft spot for zealots.
