re, Bob and profiteers. You are correct. Bob has certain beliefs both ethical and legal, and it seems some want to throw it back in his face. A potential alias of Bob's got furious when people were making scalping deals on sold tickets to one of his appearances. He now reads the copyright property of ABC on every show and it goes ignored.

When he does the live appearance he tells the audience about steps to wealth and a better life and stresses he only discusses this at personal appearances and never on the radio. The next day a detailed summary of it is posted by someone at his website until it is seen and pulled off.

The argument made that his web site makes money from the show is totally specious. The more people are drawn to Bob brinker anything, the higher the ratings are likely to be and the better for ABC and Bob.If they had summaries for a time at BB.com at least they were under the control of Bob and could be pulled if something was written that he did not mean to convey. Further the website is full of information on the various ways a person can listen to the show from a station that has bought it from ABC. Moneytalk is spread out over 6 hours on the weekend. To me it would seem a comprehensive summary is a potential assault on ABC's and the local stations' ratings. Why else would someone want to pay for the summaries then in many cases to not listen to the entire show. I am sure some augment their listening with the summaries but I wonder how closely they listen to the commercials compared to someone who sees no summary. Bottom line is it's coyrighted material of which profiting without permission is the most obvious violation.

I am guessing one reason Bob is still on the air is he not only enjoys it but it makes it easy to do charity appearances while he maintains a high profile and can promote them on the air. Hopefully this crap won't push Bob to leave the show sooner then he would have otherwise. Just hope they don't start calling him the "dean of financial talk hosts" That can make anybody feel 20 years older and ready for retirement<g>
