It is that intransigence, the idea that either guns must be freely available everywhere or nobody will have them that will lead to the result you fear most. The NRA should be on the forefront of common sense controls. There are many possibilities to keep guns out of the hands of the unresponsible and unqualified. If the NRA does not come up with it's own proposals, then it will fall to the easiest solution, keep guns out of almost everyone's hands.
