the purpose of the 2nd amendment I suppose you are referring to a potential coup and that the citizen Rambos will rise up and restore democracy for all good christains. There are solutions for that too other than giving a gun to every two bit thug. NRA should be lobbying on behalf of checks and balances through the national guard system. That would leave a large group of well armed but responsible people divided among the states where it is unlikely they would all join with plotters. TP
