Actually Borland is still around. They changed their name to Inprise.

Did you know that after Delhphi came out in 1995 and cleaned VB's clock that MSFT then pushed hard and hired programming expert Anthony Bay away from Borland with a $1million bonus.

That didn't matter though. Inprise is still making tools and may clean MSFT's clock again this summer with the cross-platform Delphi.

From what I remember Bay became a muckety-muck at MSNBC.

It is interesting in any event that 'Borland' has consistently out-produced MSFT in tools even though MSFT has interal access to their own OSes and Inprise does not.
