Questions:

From the NTRO website, it would appear that their Air-Star
product offers a 16 Mbps peak (burst) transmission rate and
that they use dynamic capacity allocation techniques (i.e.,
statistical multiplexing) so that the average rate may be
much lower than this.

netro-corp.com

1. Is 16 Mbps the total capacity of a hub?

In other words, is this the capacity that is shared
among users... so that, with 16 simultaneous users
they are each getting (on average) 1 Mbps throughput?

2. Are the upstream and downstream capacities the same?

3. How many users can share this capacity at once?

4. Do the upstream and downstream links operate at
different frequencies?

5. What is the spectral efficiency for the upstream link?
What is the spectral efficiency for the downstream link?

[That is, how many Mbps/Mhz do they achieve?]

6. In general, what are the "interesting" features
(both good and bad) of Netro's product?

Thanks,

Rob
