My earlier assessment that "Power Lunch" is nothing more than "The Today Show" proved to be on target today.
Let's see, we had musicians touting their new website, we heard about some 12-year-old girl who just got signed to a recording contract, we heard about book reviews...err, make that Griffeth's Summer Reading List. Yesterday they had that chick who writes financial books for novices, whose #1 financial "tip" was "Look for change between your couch cushions" (and no, I'm not making that up, she actually said that in a previous Power Lunch interview). Tomorrow we get Todd Rundgren...with so much general entertainment, I don't know how they have time to report on--of all things--the markets! Oh yeah, I guess they don't, sans the 2-minute cutaways to Kernen once an hour.
Meanwhile, CNNfn just kept talking about stocks and fund managers during the same time...go figure. |
