RE: Major Jaz Problems
I went to yet another small multimedia studio here in the big city today, and the owner had a PC-based editing system (a rarity! Usually they're mostly Macs). I noticed an internal Jaz drive installed, and asked him about it.
All I said was, "How do you like it?"
He said, in his thick Polish accent, "I don't like it. I lose files on it a lot."
This mirrored the comments made by others I've encountered in the various studios here.
He then said, "I hear there is a Si, Syja, ..."
"A Syjet?" I question.
"Yes. That is it." he said. "Do you think it is better?"
"Well, I've heard it is more stable." I replied.
"It is also 1.5 Gig and Jaz is only 1" he offered.
He then said he would seriously consider exchanging his Jaz for a Syjet soon.
The above account is totally accurate and true. It is these kinds of IOM horror stories that cause concern among serious investors in buying into a company with a reputation for lousy customer service, and cheap, shoddy products. As for considering this story to be an endorsement to buy SYQT stock, let me say that it is clearly not. Both IOM and SYQT have a tough road to hoe down the road, and the street recognizes this. |
