Cringe - Re: "You know, a .15 Thunderbird with 1MB L2 cache would be nearly the same size as the current Thunderbird (120mm2). If Mustang ends up coming out on .15, it will be a very low cost server/workstation processor. That may be how AMD intends to go up against the Cascades w/2MB L2 cache, the processor that is over 300mm2. Add LDT and one north bridge per two processors and I think you have a pretty powerful platform for multi-way systems. Got that Tony? ;)"
First, you need the a .15 Thunderbird with 1MB L2 cache - it ain't here, Cringe ! Got that ?
Second, you need a Add LDT and one north bridge - these aren't here either, Cringe. - Got that?
If and when you DO get the above items, then you'll have your potential customers spend 8 to 12 months on testing, verification and validation of system performance.
IBM, Compaq , Dell, Gateway, etc., don't want BILLION DOLLAR CUSTOMERS complaining that their "Discount Servers are Down Again !!!".
Got that, Cringe?
