Your post said a lot about patience with respect to AMD and that is very true. It will take time for AMD's PE to expand, but meanwhile the earnings growth will push the stock price.

AMD will soon be reporting a DOUBLING of revenues. I think with options you can afford to be picky about reinvesting the proceeds of options sold near expiration, because the volatility is so high. In other words, sell the options a week before expiration, but don't think you need to reinvest the money the same day.

The technical indicators, especially sentiment indicators like put/call ratio, are good for timing purchases but I wouldn't be moving wholesale in and out like some have done here.

My biggest fundamental worry was "Willy," but the Rambus situation and large die size have forced Intel's hand into waiting for the 0.13u Willy with both RDRAM and DDR support. The jury is still out on whether Intel can get Willy 0.13 and a DDR chipset ready in early Q1'2001. I would say AMD might get to Sledgehammer about the same time and will certainly have TBird [EDIT: MUSTANG] out before Willy appears, even the 0.18 version of Willy.
