This is not true either. Fair is measured by whether or not you are following the rules. Your issue is more with rules than fairness.

Rules are made by people, and reflect people's perceptions of fairness. Rules change, often because people's perceptions of fairness change.

Any system of rules that does not allow for change is doomed to extinction. Can you imagine what the United States would look like today if the founding fathers had declared that the laws of their day were fixed and immutable?
