You might want to check out the alternative reality on the New Frank C. thread. Pretty good stuff. I've even posted recently, after a hiatus.

Do not dis the 5 dimension stuff. Murray Gell-Mann (sp?) among other cosmologists are now working with mathematical concepts that admit to a 12-dimensional reality. We are really only at the very beginnings of this (our) species comprehension of the possibilities. Seems that we are learning more every day about how limited our senses are. I do not believe that we have yet completely determined that time runs in only one direction, doppler effects notwithstanding. Nor is it clear, from contemporary experimentation that the speed of light is an impregnable barrier. I find that I do best by concluding that the sum total of human beliefs and understandings are at best fragmentary and at worst misleading, as we advance our knowledge and understanding of the universe. Remember, Einstein may have come up with some pretty good theories, but he spent precious little time thinking about the universe at the sub-atomic level, and he was never able to create the grand unifying theory. We still have a long way to go before we are clueful.
