Of course, know how is absolutely valuable. Know how in
both technology and business. I think losing the USRX
business to Aware was not part of the plan. It was
a blunder. Amati technology is good, very good. But
instead of having some big players become part of
Amati's camp, you now have big players in the
other guy's camp. These players got big R&D money
that can come up with some impressive stuff. Good
business acumen says never to underestimate the enemy.
To push big players into the other camp and not think
they can come up with their own stuff is a risky
business model to follow. At anytime within the
next 3 months, USRX, or Aware, or PairGain, or
Westell, or Globespan(not likely), or Alcatel
could have a breakthrough. The game Amati is playing
is an unnecessarily risky gambit. It's one that makes
me sweat. Anybody else out there sweating?
