It's beyond incredible that the DOJ brought an anti-trust case at a time when the above is occurring.

I've often wondered what the real reason behind this ridiculous travesty of justice and waste of time and money (both taxpayers and MSFT shareholders) could be. I really believe that it was Gates and MSFT's basic political naivete. They truly didn't realize that they needed a "Wesley Mouch", (Randies will understand), in Washington to fawn over and pay off the politicos. It's both sickening and sad that businesses have to play this game, but that's reality. And it's kinda funny that the businesses that are good at running to Washington, for protection and/or corporate welfare, aren't the type of businesses that can succeed against their competitors in a dynamic free market environment.
