ISSI Announces Two New 2-Wire Serial EEPROMS
New Non-Volatile Devices Target a Variety of Applications
SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISSI - news) today introduced the IS24C64 -- a 64Kb 2-wire EEPROM and the IS24C32 -- a 32Kb 2-wire EEPROM, both of which can operate at 400KHz over a range of 1.8V to 5.5V. These products are designed with a hardwire protection pin which, when tied to Vcc, protects the entire memory. The devices have a 32-Byte page write option and are capable of 1,000,000 cycles endurance and 100 years data retention. They feature industry leading 5ms write cycle time, read current below 1mA, and typical standby current below 2uA, which makes them ideal for battery operation. These devices are targeted for a broad range of telecom, networking, cellular phones, smart cards, set-top-box and other applications. ``We are expanding our serial EEPROM product offering as these products continue to be important to the rapidly growing communications market,'' said Tom Doczy, ISSI's senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Price, Packaging and Availability
The IS24C64 and IS24C32 are offered in 8-pin SOIC or 8-pin DIP packages. In quantities of 10,000 the IS24C64 is priced at $1.00 and the IS24C32 is priced at $.85. Samples are now available, with volume shipments beginning in Q3 2000.
