As for rattlesnakes, I've had my own adventures with their cousins in West Africa. Some on this thread will remember that. I understand rattlesnakes are good-eating, but in your case, however, that may be tantamount to a form of cannibalism.

Am I an egoist? Yes. Egoism and pride in oneself is good, despite what the rabid apologists that populate the murky depths of the world's religions would have you believe.

You have never met anyone of my "ilk," as I am a unique personality. So go despise the cardboard creation you created in your mind. That's not me. If you would like a pair of scissors I could forward you a pair so you may busily amuse yourself cutting out more paper tigers.
