While I agree w/ much of your post, I'm not so sure about the statement above. I tried digging up 2 posts of mine from late May (to no avail), where I posted specifics of 2 conversations, arranged by a purchasing friend at a Big-3 firm, w/ GTW and CPQ bznz sales (granted, these conversations were with SALES, plus my friend and I are not in IT, so take my statements w/ a grain of salt). Nonetheless, despite extensive grilling and complaining (by us) about RDRAM availability and price:performance benefit, both CPQ and GTW stuck to their guns and suggested that DRDRAM is the present and future roadmap for tech workstations, and they envision themselves migrating to 100% RDRAM workstations in the next 6 - 12 months. There was little to no ambivalence in their positions.
Any further thoughts on this?
BTW, as a long, I am quite pleased w/ 1.7% out of the starting block.
